Saturday 5April saw the second of the clubs monthly fishing competitions. With 15 entries in the competition this added an extra edge to the enthusiasm and excitement. Such was the enthusiasm that one member was as far up as Luss when he was informed that in his excitement he had left the boot of his car open. With prizes for Salmon and Seat Trout the fresh Easterly wind kept the temperature down but did provide a good wave increasing the chances of a good catch. With the boats setting off from as early as 6.30am and fishing through until 5pm the chances of a good catch were positive. Throughout the course of the day there was a continual flow of reported catches of Sea Trout, with most if not all the anglers managing to catch a fish some catching more than one.
Following the days angling the members gathered in the club house for some well earned refreshments and some warm soup and sandwiches. There was no Salmon caught therefore the prize will roll over to next month and the winner of the Sea Trout category was club member Phil Shannon. Congratulations to Phil.
These events continue to increase in popularity and have now created a great deal of interest from our members. As yet we are unable to confirm the date of the next one, but when it becomes available we will let you know. A big thank you to Rab and Sandra Ann for their commitment to these events and Sandra Ann for the soup and Sandwiches.
